Babe's Chicken Dinner House was born from a vision of a sit-down restaurant where people felt at home whether they were in a fancy suite or blue jean cutoffs. It was born from a vision of being surrounded and served by neighbors and friends. It has become all of those things and more. It has become a family and stable in the Texan community.

In 1981 Paul and Mary Beth Vinyard opened their first country cooking restaurant and named it Bubba's (a nickname of Paul). A little over a decade later on April 22 of 1993 they opened their second restaurant and this time named it after a nickname of Mary Beth. They named it Babe's Chicken Dinner House. Over the years the one restaurant turned into two, then three, and eventually the eight restaurants they have today. Babe's homemade fried chicken spread to be not only a Texan favorite, but a Texan staple as well.

The menu is split into Main Dishes, Vegetables & Breads, and Desserts. Their Main dishes of course are all fried with Babe's crispy batter recipe. Their main dishes include Fried Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak, Fried Chicken Tenders, Fried Catfish, and Hickory Smoked Chicken. Vegetables & Breads include Green Salad, Mashed Potatoes, Cream Gravy, Grandma's Corn, Green Beans, and their delicious buttermilk biscuits. These homemade dishes include a variety of Meringue Pies including Chocolate, Coconut, and Lemon flavors. For those not interest in pie they also serve Banana Pudding, and Pineapple Upside-down Cake.

For those seeking traditional Texan homestyle fried chicken this place is a good option. What makes it a must-visit, however is the vision that started this whole restaurant.
